Update from 6.30 pm SUN News
The rains Chennai has witnessed in the last few days is the highest in the last 10 years.
Water has entered most of the EB offices as a result of which power supply has been suspended in most of the areas.
Water logging in and around Chennai Central and Egmore railway stations has resulted in cancellation of long distance trains.

Just talked to my mom. our house is flooded. Water has entered a bit into the house. This has never happened before.
BTW, what is this blog's time local to? Chennai time?

local flights are scheduled for later today. Yahoo weather's asia satellite shows that it is crossing north of chennai.
I have also highlighted this blog at ChennaiCentral. Will keep checking this periodically. Let's pray and hope that the storm crosses an area where there is no human settlement.
